SEN Support Assistant – South Bristol

Location: South Bristol
Start Date: September
Hours: Monday–Friday, Term Time Only

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in South Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist pupils in accessing learning and engaging in classroom activities
  • Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies
  • Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN
  • A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
