About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support that helps pupils achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assist with implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning strategies.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Help create an engaging, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, compassionate, and positive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
