About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Worker to join a school, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to reach their full potential.
You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support, both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or support settings)
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is adaptable and able to respond positively to challenging situations
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Support Work, Health & Social Care, or Education) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
