Do you have experience working with secondary aged pupils with SEMH difficulties (EBD) or challenging behaviour?

Do you have any experience in any of the following backgrounds: care services, prisons, youth worker, sports coaching or psychology?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants/LSA's to work within a behavioural school in Ormskirk. The school are looking for a TA with behavioural experience or Team-Teach/ MAPA training.

Teaching Assistant - The School

This school is based is Ormskirk, a short drive from the M58 or for those teaching assistants who use public transport, there is a train station within a 15 minute walk from the school. Most pupils attend the school on a short term basis and are there most often as a result of exclusion from mainstream education. The pupils all have SEMH difficulties and the majority of pupils are very challenging. Ability of pupils varies greatly and SEN in school consists of ADHD, ODD, MLD and EAL.

Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities

*To encourage pupils to join in with all activities and to take a full and active part in school life.

*To prepare, modify and adapt resources and learning materials for the pupil as agreed with the class teacher and other professionals.

*To assist in resolving any behavioural, social and emotional difficulties which may arise

*To encourage the pupil to develop a positive self image, and to develop confidence in their abilities and communication with others.

Requirements

There are no specific qualifications required in terms of Teaching Assistant qualifications but having behaviour management training such as Team-Teach or MAPA is highly desirable.
