Teaching Assistant - North Manchester

Are you passionate about supporting young people through their studies?

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a secondary school in North Manchester who have a gap in their support department for a Teaching Assistant from October 2019. This is a fantastic role for prospective applicants that are from a youth work or caring background and would like to transfer their skills and experience into an education setting.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant required from October 2019 until the end of the academic year
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract thereafter
  • Supporting a range of students with additional needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Become an integral member of a successful SEN department
  • 'Good' secondary school in Manchester
  • Earn up to £1300 per month (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Our partner school is located in the Prestwich area of North Manchester and is a smaller than average mixed comprehensive secondary school with fewer than 1000 students enrolled from the surrounding areas of Whitefield and Swinton. Located a short drive from the M60 Outer Ring Road and a 10 minute walk from a Metrolink tram stop, our partner school is easily accessible from a range of areas across Greater Manchester.

This role will suit candidates that have experience of working with young people in a range of different capacities including supporting those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Prospective applicants may also be experienced in working with challenging behaviour or young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Teaching Personnel are keen to hear from candidates from backgrounds where key skills and abilities can be easily transferred including sports coaches and youth workers.

Working as a Teaching Assistant, successful candidates will be:

  • Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis in an attempt to raise progress and attainment
  • Working with pupils in groups to support them in a range of subjects
  • Supporting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of class work
  • Working with students with a variety of needs including learning, behaviour and SEN

If you would like to apply for this post as a Teaching Assistant, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
