Teaching Assistant Opportunites – Secondary Schools in Wigan.

Location: Wigan
Start Date: ASAP/January 2026

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a variety of OFSTED Good/Outstanding schools in Wigan who are looking for Teaching Assistants to start ASAP/January.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to support high-quality learning and create a positive, engaging classroom environment. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils reach their potential through tailored academic and emotional support.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
• Assist in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Support children with diverse learning needs, including SEND and EAL
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to effective classroom management
• Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and genuine passion for education
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting learning
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
