Teaching Assistant Level 1

We work closely with a Primary school in Leyland which caters for pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism and ADHD.

This school caters for pupils who struggle to remain in mainstream education, often due to their behaviour.

The school is based centrally in Leyland and school hours are 8.45am - 3.15pm with a half an hour lunch break.

The role is a Teaching Assistant (L1) and you will be expected to help manage behaviour in class, assist the teacher with any admin tasks, keep the pupils on task as much as possible and act as a positive mentor in class!

The role would suit a candidate with experience, ideally within a primary school setting, although applications are open to those who have worked in secondary education or alternative childcare backgrounds. The role would suit a candidate who has strong behaviour management skills, have experience working with children with SEN and have a hard working, can-do attitude!

The role will start within the next couple of weeks and you must be willing to work one day on voluntary trial basis so the school can ascertain your suitability for the role.

The position will be long term, until Christmas likely and pay for the role will be GBP10 per hour.
