A full time position for a Key Stage 3 Teaching Assistant with extensive experience working with pupils with SEMH needs. The position is full time and commences in September 2019 and will involve working on a contract until July 2019. As a teaching assistant you will work 5 days per week (Monday - Friday) 8.30 - 3.30pm. The provision does not operate in school holidays so you will not be expected to work.
The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy trust which operates across 4 sites in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The role will involve working in co-operation with a qualified teacher to support the ongoing development of all pupils. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the ideal teaching assistant will have experience working with those who display signs of challenging behaviours.
The ideal teaching assistant will have:
- A non judgemental approach
- Team Teach training (can be provided)
- An understanding of how to cater for pupils with SEMH needs
- Experience of working within a school, residential home or similar environment
