Harrogate Primary School 

  • Level 2 or above qualification

  • Competitive salary GBP10-GBP12.50 per hour
  • The position is part-time, 3 days a week.

  • Contract Type: Temporary with the potential for a school contract following a successful period of probation.

A ‘Good’ Primary School located in Harrogate are looking to appoint an experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part time basis (3 days a week) from January 2021.

The school are looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to provide additional support to their pupils, there is the possibility for the role to be made full-time for the right candidate. The successful candidate must possess excellent behavioural and classroom management skills as well as providing a sense of enthusiasm to everyday learning and demonstrating the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with the students. You will be working to support the class teacher, prepare resources for lessons, lead 1:1 and small group sessions in reading and be willing to cover the lunchtime period at least twice a week. 

The headteacher, is keen to support the pupils with their return to school as much as possible. This will include working with children who require nurture support on a 1:1 and small group basis to provide both emotional and educational support in topics such as numeracy, literacy and phonics. The candidate will work as part of an experienced team alongside an approachable and supportive teacher but should be experienced in working with Primary School aged pupils, be confident in the role and be ready to hit the ground running.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain further experience in an educational setting prior to completing teacher training or other youth work position. It is also an appealing role for someone looking to take a step back from full class teaching or if you have previously retired from education but would like to work part-time again.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
