A fantastic opportunity has arisen in a central PRESTON Primary School supporting children across two KS2 classes. The role will be to work mainly in Year 5 and one other day in Year 6. You will work with small groups of children and individuals who are working below age related expectations in Maths, Reading and Writing. As a successful candidate, you will be expected to hold a good command of written and spoken English as well as hold good subject knowledge and pedagogy across the core subject areas. As this is a long-term position, the Head teacher is obliged to appoint a candidate with a Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification (equivalent Degrees are accepted as well as candidates with Qualified Teacher Status). The Head teacher is also keen to secure an individual who is committed to working for the rest of the academic year in this role; expected to be 30 hours per week, over five full days.

In order to apply for this role, the school have specified a number of pre-requisites, these are as follows;

-Level 2 or above teaching assistant qualification (or equivalent)

-Recent and relevant experience working in a KS2 setting

-Recent experience supporting children in small groups, as well as individual children

-Strong behaviour management techniques and comfortable working with children with challenging behaviour

It would also be preferred if the applying candidate had ambitions to work on a supply basis with the view to moving on to a school contract.

It would also be preferred if the applying candidate would be available to pick up additional working hours across the week (including welfare and after school meetings)
