Teaching Assistant

A school in Wimborne is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team on a temporary basis. 

Applications are welcomed from:

• Individuals who have prior experience working with students with SEN I either a school or alternative setting.
• Graduates who are looking to develop and enhance their secondary school experience.
• Applicants who are looking to obtain invaluable experience working with vulnerable people.

The school expects the required person:

• To hold a keen interest in developing student attainment and progression.
• To be able to devise methods to ensure students remain engaged and motivated within the classroom.
• Will be able to effectively manage pupil behaviour, and ensure students with SEN are suitably catered for based on individual needs.
• Can work to support teaching staff at all times, including developing specific learning resources.
• Can ensure students are adhering to Covid-19 protocols at all times.
• Will be able to act as a role model at all times.

The school will require the individual to:

• Display strong interpersonal skills.
• Deal with potentially challenging behaviour in an efficient manner.
• Work regularly on a 1:1 basis with students.
• Deliver feedback to students, parents and other teaching staff if necessary.

The individual will be working with students with:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Anxiety Disorder
• Multi Sensory impairment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
