Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEN School in the central Derby area.

The school caters for children aged 11 - 19 who have severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and moderate learning difficulties. There are also students who present with Autism and Down's Syndrome who attend the school. The curriculum is based on academuc achievements but also includes the following:

• practicing skills in real life situations
• solve problems in context; apply skills in new contexts
• learn about the facilities and services in their local area
• enable young people to keep safe and ask for help when necessary
• develop appropriate relationships
• provide experience of the world of work
• foster confidence, resilience and a love of learning
• prepare our leavers for the real world.

We are looking for vibrant, energetic candidtes who are willing to go the extra mile and passionate about making a difference of the lives of young people who present with Special Educational Needs.
