A secondary school situated in the heart of Southampton is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will be supporting students within the classroom as a general TA with the likelihood or being placed within a department to support more so. The department will be dependent upon the individual's background but will ideally be in Maths, Science or English. There will be plenty of continuous professional development opportunities with the successful Teaching Assistants being employed on a full time basis from January 6th until July in the first instance.
The school are ideally looking for Southampton based candidates who are confident in lower level Maths, English or Science. This opportunity is great for graduates looking to get into Teaching or for individuals who are keen to support within a school.
Key aspects of the Teaching Assistant position:
- Pay will be dependent upon experience but range between GBP285 – GBP325 per week
- Opportunity to gain more experience and assist at a supportive secondary school in Southampton
- Required to start at the beginning of the new year in January until July in the first instance
- Full time role with opportunity to progress onto Teacher Training with our Future Teachers Programme
As part of this Teaching Assistant role, you will provide small group intervention, working with identified students in supporting them with relevant subject material. There will the chance to work with students of all ages and ability, including KS3 and KS4 (years 7 – 11, aged 11 – 16). If you have any specific experience tutoring or in supporting young people, please highlight this on your application and CV as this will be highly desirable to the school.
