Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced SEND/SEN Teaching Assistant to start after October half term.

The school is based in St Austell and dedicates it’s time to providing a secure and nurturing environment for the students. There are a small number of students at this school and the support staff work on a 1:1 basis, all reporting to one Manager.

The Role:

The school requires an experienced teaching assistant with special education experience. You will be predominately working with children with Autism (ASD) and will be working on a 1:1 basis everyday. The children require support with learning, but also with everyday activities in school, so experience with children on the autistic spectrum is essential even if it isn’t within a school.

You:

You must meet the following criteria to be considered for this role:

• Experience with children with SEND (Autism/ASD)
• Excellent communication skills(you will be dealing with many colleagues/professionals/parents in the role)
• Experience with helping SEND children access the curriculum
• A patient and calm approach
• Very good team skills and a good sense of humour
