Teaching Assistant

Job description

The successful candidate will assist the teaching team to provide valuable learning experiences for our children. Under the direction of the teaching team, you will be required to work with a child on a 1:1 basis both inside and outside of the classroom, providing opportunities for learning.

To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years of working with children in a learning environment or relevant NVQ 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, have a desirable level of numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.

You will have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) supporting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs and experience of using Information Technology to support pupils in the classroom.

Ideally you will have a knowledge of Child Protection and Health & Safety regulations and an understanding of the importance of child protection and safeguarding

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
