This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside an excellent Secondary School in Shiremoor, North Tyneside to recruit a passionate, part time Teaching Assistant to work closely with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. This role is ideal for those looking to work flexible hours and still earn competitive pay rates of GBP57-GBP65 per day.
As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with children and young people in Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting their learning and individual classroom needs. This is an incredibly rewarding role, as you will be assisting less advanced children, often on a 1:1 basis. You will be working with children and young people who will often display challenging behaviour such as:
- Anxiety
- Exclusion
- Speech and language difficulties
- A disengagement with the classroom and learning
- Withdrawn attitudes
- Frustrated, angry and aggressive tempers
- Truancy
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must have some experience working with children and young people with SEND and SEMH, as well as this de-escalation training would be advantageous and the school would also consider a candidate with youth work / mental health care backgrounds, or similar roles.
Through Teaching Personnel, the successful candidate can benefit from our outstanding CPD Academy where we offer a range of courses such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness and Behaviour That Challenges. If you are interested in this role please call us today for a confidential chat to learn more.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
