Make a Difference Where It Matters Most

Do you have the resilience, confidence and determination to support young people who may have experienced significant challenges in education?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist secondary provision in Bury that supports pupils who require an alternative approach to learning. The school is committed to helping young people rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve success both in education and beyond.

This is not your typical Teaching Assistant role. Every day brings new challenges, new achievements and genuine opportunities to transform a young person's future.

What You'll Be Doing

✅ Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

✅ Supporting students both in lessons and around the school

✅ Encouraging engagement, confidence and positive attitudes to learning

✅ Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours with confidence and professionalism

✅ Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support individual pupil needs

✅ Acting as a positive role model and consistent presence throughout the school day

✅ Helping create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is confident managing behaviours that may challenge
  • Can remain calm, professional and solution-focused under pressure
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Is proactive and able to use their initiative
  • Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
  • Has experience within education, youth work, care, SEMH, SEND, sports coaching or similar settings (desirable but not essential)

Why This Role?

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants more than just a classroom support role. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated team helping young people overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve outcomes they never thought possible.

If you're the type of person who builds rapport quickly, thrives on making a positive impact and isn't afraid of a challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
