*Charming Specialist Primary School based in Hayes Town*

* Full-time ongoing role for an academic year as a minimum *

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for experienced autism teaching assistants and graduates seeking roles supporting autism for a charming specialist primary school in Hayes.

This teaching assistant role will be full time and ongoing for an academic year as a minimum and would be to start either immediately or in September.

The School

The school provides for primary aged children with autism across the spectrum and additional learning and behavioural difficulties, with classes holding up to 10 students, a teacher and up to 3 other Teaching Assistants.

The Role:

The role involves supporting children with autism in class and across the school 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups. This additionally will include adapting lessons, creating innovative resources, report taking, liaising with therapists and overall support of pupils in your care.

  • Committed to the development of children and young people with special needs
  • Able to motivate pupils to fulfil their full potential in education and in society
  • Able to be a role model to pupils and enable them to make appropriate choices
  • Knowledgeable in primary national curriculum support

Additional experience/training preferred for this role:

  • Trained in specialist approaches (PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, SPELL, Attention Autism, Elklan, RWI)
  • Qualified in GCSE grades A* - C or equivalent and/or higher and is able to produce certification
