Teaching Assistant (Fixed-Term)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Fixed-term until July 2026
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only
Salary: £13.50 - £14.50 an hour
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
The school is a warm, welcoming, and inclusive Catholic school at the heart of the Wythenshawe community. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our committed team from January 2026 for the remainder of the academic year.
About the Role:
You will work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils across the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a difference in children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils in class, including those with additional needs
- Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
- Working one-to-one or in small groups to support learning
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
