We are seeking a committed and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join this supportive school community from February 2026. This full-time Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and child‑centred environment.

About the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum. You will work closely with class teachers to assist in planning, deliver targeted interventions, lead small groups, and help create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment. Your contribution as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant will directly support pupil progress, confidence, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons alongside class teachers
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils
• Plan and deliver targeted interventions for children with additional needs
• Assist in lesson planning, resource creation, and general classroom administration
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development
• Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and external agencies
• Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress as required

What We’re Looking For

• HLTA qualification or extensive Higher-Level Teaching Assistant experience
• Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of child development and effective classroom practice
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive, adaptable, and nurturing approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
