Job description

We are a specialist SEN school catering for pupils aged 4-19 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and associated sensory, communication, and medical needs. Our children thrive with the support of a dedicated team that recognises and celebrates every achievement—no matter how small.

What you’ll do:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage with learning activities tailored to their needs.

  • Assist with personal care, therapy sessions, and mobility as required.

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with pupils using a range of methods including Makaton, PECS, or AAC (training will be provided if needed).

What we’re looking for:

  • A caring, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude.

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs. We will also consider experience supporting adults with special needs. 

  • Strong team player with good communication skills and emotional resilience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
