Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant & Lunchtime Supervisor
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (part-time or flexible hours may be considered for the right candidate – please state preferences on application)
Salary: £14.25 per hour
Location: Hampshire (working through Teaching Personnel)

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, patient and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school community. You will be working through Teaching Personnel, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.

This role combines classroom support with lunchtime supervision, helping to ensure pupils feel safe, included and supported throughout the school day.

What You Will Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and promote progress
• Encouraging positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting pupils to engage confidently in classroom activities
• Assisting with personal and intimate care where required, including toileting, changing and hygiene support, in line with school policy and training
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive learning environment
• Observing, recording and sharing pupil progress with relevant staff
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, therapists and families
• Supporting pupils during lunchtime as part of the midday supervision team

• Experience working with children with additional needs is helpful but not essential (training provided)

• Confidence in providing personal care in a professional manner

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
