Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Southampton

£13.75 per hour | Full-time, Term-Time | Immediate Start, after vetting process

Are you passionate about working with children and thinking about a future in education?
We’re looking for energetic, empathetic and adaptable Learning Support Assistants to work across schools in Southampton via a supportive education agency.

This role is ideal if you have experience in healthcare, youth work, sports coaching, Camp America, or similar people-focused roles — or if you’re keen to start a long-term career in education and bring the right attitude and commitment.

The Role

As an LSA, you’ll support children and young people with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and feel safe in school. You may work 1:1 or in small groups, supporting pupils with:

  • Autism (ASC)

  • Challenging behaviour

  • Medical needs

  • ADHD and other SEN diagnoses

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in healthcare, youth work, coaching, camps, or care OR

  • A strong desire to build a career in education

  • An energetic, resilient and patient approach

  • Empathy and confidence when supporting children with additional needs

  • Flexibility and adaptability across different school environments

  • Availability for full-time, term-time work (preferred)

  • Immediate availability is highly desirable

  • Must be a UK citizen or have the right to work in the UK

  • Correct visa status and share code required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
