Southampton

We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work full time in Special Educational Needs schools across Southampton. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, patient, and keen to support children with additional needs in their education and development.

The position is temporary to begin with. However, where there is a strong fit, schools are open to discussing permanent employment.

Key Information

  • Pay rate of £13.75 per hour

  • Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday

  • Full-time availability required, five days per week

  • Start date is as soon as possible, subject to vetting

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs

  • Assisting with learning activities in the classroom

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Candidate Criteria

  • Aged 20 or over

  • At least two years of employment history in any sector

  • Experience in a school or care environment is desirable but not essential

  • Able to commit to consistent full-time hours

  • A genuine interest in working with children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
