Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Primary School Teaching Assistants to work in a range of primary schools across Southampton from September 2025. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available to suit your availability and experience.

About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils in their learning under the direction of the class teacher. This may include working with small groups or one-to-one, assisting with classroom activities, and helping to create a positive learning environment.

Who we’re looking for:
We welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills, even if you haven’t worked in a school before. Experience in childcare, youth work, support work, coaching, or similar roles is valued. You should be:

• Supportive, patient, and reliable

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively

• Willing to learn and follow guidance

• Passionate about working with children

Responsibilities:

• Supporting children during lessons

• Helping manage behaviour and classroom routines

• Working with pupils who may need additional help

• Assisting with learning materials and classroom setup
