Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking compassionate, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and independence — helping them grow in confidence and thrive both academically and socially.
The school is a successful and welcoming specialist school for children and young people aged 4–19 with autism, speech, language and communication needs, and a range of learning difficulties.

What You’ll Do
- Support pupils in the classroom, in small groups, and during individual learning activities
- Help deliver engaging lessons, adapting learning to meet pupils’ needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, using a calm and supportive approach
- Assist with behaviour regulation and communication strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff
- Encourage independence, life skills and confidence in a nurturing environment
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with a positive attitude, resilience and a genuine desire to support young people. Experience in SEND, autism support or education is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
