A school for pupils aged 4 to 19 with a primary diagnosis of autism (ASD) and speech language and communication needs.  Staff and governors are focused on supporting pupils and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.  They work with a range of other professionals to ensure the needs of each child can be correctly identified. They support each individual and prepare them for adulthood. 

The holistic curriculum supports students social and emotional wellbeing and includes life skills, community access, careers and therapies. Young people take part in therapeutic work every day including speech and language therapy, sensory support, occupational therapy, THRIVE, social emotional and mental health support and zones of regulation.

As a Teaching Assistant in this school, you will:

  • Provide general classroom support
  • Meet pupils emotional, social and physical needs
  • Liaise with teaching staff in the development and delivery of differentiated curriculum

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are confident and resilient and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience of working with children in a school setting is highly desired but we will also consider applicants who have other experience working with children or vulnerable adults.

You would need to feel comfortable working with all ages across the school but if you have a preference in age group, we will take this into consideration. There may be some personal care with this role.

This is a full time role but we will consider a job share for the right candidate.  Working hours are 08:40 – 15:15.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
