Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking caring, resilient, and adaptable Teaching Assistants who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our young people.
You will be working at a specialist school for students aged 6–19 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated complex needs. The school provides day placements and a residential provision on site. They also offer a therapeutic, tailored curriculum with small class sizes, designed to support both academic and personal development.
The Role
As a TA, you will:
- Support students in the classroom, in small group settings, and on a 1:1 basis
- Use behaviour regulation strategies and support students in self-regulation
- Foster trusting relationships with students, responding with patience and understanding
- Work closely with the therapy team to implement communication and sensory strategies
- Promote students’ independence, life skills, and self-confidence
- Collaborate with teachers, care staff, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes
Person Specification

- You are compassionate, patient, and have a genuine passion for supporting young people with ASD
- You work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- You are keen to learn and grow professionally
- You are flexible, adaptable and resilient, comfortable working across different situations and age groups
- Experience working in an educational or care setting is essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
