An Ofsted graded “GOOD” school in the BB4 area of Rawtenstall, Lancashire are looking to recruit a hard-working, patient, and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to support their pupils with their progress and general well-being. The school’s main aim it to prepare their pupils for life beyond school, therefore the successful candidate must hold the pupil’s best interests in the highest regard.

Vacancy details:

ü  The start date is ideally ASAP, or the school are happy to wait until January for the right candidate

ü  Initially for one term, with the potential to become permanent depending on the successful candidates performance

ü  Full time, 5 days per week

Key candidate qualities:

ü  A GCSE (or equivalent qualification) pass in Maths and English is essential

ü  Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures

ü  Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD

ü  Commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual

ü  Be positive and creative in meeting pupils’ needs

Responsibilities

ü  Providing 1:1 sessions for pupils with SEN including challenging behaviour

ü  Establishing a close, supportive relationship with the pupils to help them feel safe in school and enjoy their learning

ü  Promoting independence and personal development, maintaining high expectations

ü  Demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively within a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
