We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person who would like to learn new skills and gain the knowledge needed to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their families.

If successful, you will be working at a special school supporting young people from the age of 5-11 with an EHCP. The main need is Autism along with other complex needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Heath). 

The role is primarily class-based, working alongside a teacher with a group of up to 8 pupils. The focus of the role is to support the pupils’ learning, wellbeing and ensuring positive behaviour for learning, along with maintaining the classroom environment to a high standard.

This SEN school recognises the value of effective teamwork and Teaching Assistants are very much part of both Class Teams and the wider Whole School team. Their input forms an integral part of our provision and is valued by all staff, including the Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a flexible approach
  • Be willing to gain knowledge and experience of working with children in KS1-2 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Be highly resilient
  • Be able to work well as a member of a successful team
  • Have highly developed interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
