Entry Level Teaching Assistant – Full Time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work in a local school in Pembrokeshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational needs of students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Job Duties:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with ASC and ADHD, assisting them in their educational and social development.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and implementing strategies to meet the specific needs of students with ASC and ADHD
  • Support students with their personal care needs, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Monitor and report on student progress, highlighting any concerns to the class teacher or ALNCo (Additional Learning Needs Coordinator)
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during break times and on school outings
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills. (We have numerous free and heavily discounted CPD courses available!)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role (i.e Care)
  • Experience in working with individuals with ASC and ADHD is highly desirable
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Knowledge of strategies and techniques to support students with ASC and ADHD
  • Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
