Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking to take on five new members of staff to work in a long-term, full-time placement in a local superschool, with ages ranging from 3-16.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing group intervention support for KS2-KS3 pupils with Maths & English
  • Working in specific classes to provide mentorship and support to pupils of all abilities.
  • Providing reading support to pupils with Dyslexia
  • Being a pastoral figure, helping students who are a victim of bullying and other outside of school factors.
  • Helping students with IT, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Reporting all potential safeguarding issues to the safeguarding lead

What we are looking for:

 

  • GCSEs of 4/C or higher in Maths & English
  • Basic ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • A strong command of the English Language
  • Your own form of transport is preferred, although not necessary
  • Somebody with a background or knowledge of key skills to work with children – for example, previous work in care/support, childcare, hospitality management, sports coaching or a relevant degree/qualification like Psychology or Health & Social Care

*Please note that prior experience as a Teaching Assistant is not a requirement for this post. Between ourselves and the school training will be provided.

*Please note that all applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check – and must possess the Right to Work in the UK. All applicants that have spent a period of longer than six months outside of the United Kingdom in the last five years must provide a valid, English police check from said country.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
