Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant needed for sensory resource base of special needs school, Manchester.

As Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include supporting students with special needs and sensory delay (predominatly Autism Spectrum Disorder) to engage in developmental activities on a 1:1 basis and within groups. 

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you need;

• Experience supporting special needs in a professional or personal environment
• Experience with children (preferable but not essential)
• Understanding of sensory deprivations/delays and Autism Spectrum Condition
• A kind, caring and nurturing personality

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered).

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

The school require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.
