Key Stage 2 Primary Teaching Assistant

The role:

A reputable Primary School located within the central Preston area are looking for a dynamic and driven Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Lower KS2. This role will be working Monday-Friday term time only supporting pupils from 8:45-15:15 with 30 minutes for lunch. This new and exciting role is to begin following the October half term (30th October 2023). The successful candidate will be required to support children in Y3 and Y4 particularly tailoring support around closing gaps in learning. The role will be providing support in Maths and English, however the Headteacher is also keen for the successful candidate to organise Well-Being groups during the early afternoon.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum Level 2 childcare related qualification. Candidates possibly qualified at a higher Degree Level or Level 3 are welcome to apply. The Headteacher and SENCO are seeking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant who is ambitious and have a real passion for working with young people particularly across the Juniors. Experience working alongside Primary Aged children is essential for this role.

The full staff team have high expectations of children and are keen to support them to be the best they can be. This is a rare opportunity as vacancies rarely crop up in school due to a happy, stable staffing. Rates of pay are competitive for roles of this nature, starting at £11:50 per hour and paid on a weekly basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
