Teaching Assistant
Job description
At Teaching Personnel we are working closely with a primary schools in the Horsham area that has asked us to recruit a 1:1/learning support assistant. looking for a TA who is able to support a child with ADHD. At the moment the child is on a part time timetable 9.00-1.00, so this would be a one-to-one support role for the mornings and over lunch. They would be a general TA in the afternoon. The child is in year 5. The person needs to be kind, patient, have a sense of humour and be able to think on their feet. Some understanding of ADHD would be really helpful. We are looking for the role to start after Easter.
The position is full-time, term time only.
Job role:
- Reading or explaining tasks to the child, understanding, and supporting their needs and keeping them focused on their tasks.
- Manage challenging behaviours.
- Consistent and dependable - due to SEN needs this is essential
- Support the teacher to maintain learning and help children access the curriculum.
Full time - competative rates of pay
What does it take to be a 1:1 Teaching Assistant?
- Passion for education
- Patience and understanding
- No formal educational qualifications necessary - however experience of SEN needs is essential.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs in core subjects
- Enhanced DBS Certificate available on the Update service (Teaching Personnel can assist)
- Access to a car is preferable due to location but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
