We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 behaviour support mentor to work with a year 4 student who attends a primary school in the Hayle area. The role will be to start in September. The ideal candidate will be available Monday – Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm during term time.

You will be required to work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver work to the student. There will be times you will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with the student to help aid learning and understanding of topics. You will need to have excellent behaviour management and communication skills along with knowledge of different methods and the ability to create a good routine. You will need to have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum to allow you to support the student effectively with their work and to also allow you to confidently plan additional work when required. You will be required to communicate with several professionals within the school for example the SENCO, the class teacher, the head teacher and there may also be occasions when you are required to communicate with parents.

Thew ideal candidate will have at least a years’ experience within a school setting and be confident when entering a new school. You will need to have excellent relationship building skills and be reliable. You will need to be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies.
