Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)
Location: Launceston, Cornwall
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Temporary (Maternity Cover) – Term Time Only

About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school in Launceston on a full-time, long-term temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students both 1:1 and in small group settings, helping them to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs or EHCPs.

• Assist with small group interventions to boost student progress.

• Collaborate closely with teachers to implement tailored learning plans.

• Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence.

• Support classroom management and create a welcoming learning environment.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally in education.

• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential; training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
