Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)
Location: Launceston, Cornwall
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Temporary (Maternity Cover) – Term Time Only
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school in Launceston on a full-time, long-term temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students both 1:1 and in small group settings, helping them to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs or EHCPs.

Assist with small group interventions to boost student progress.

Collaborate closely with teachers to implement tailored learning plans.

Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence.

Support classroom management and create a welcoming learning environment.
Person Specification:
-
Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally in education.
-
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
Ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
-
Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential; training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
