Teaching Assistant – Specialist Schools
Location: Totton, New Forest and surrounding areas
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Job Type: Supply / Day-to-Day / Full-Time Opportunities Available
Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas.
We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term placements and full-time positions, making this a great opportunity whether you are looking for flexible work or a longer-term role within education.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant in a specialist setting, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils engage with their learning, develop their independence and feel supported within the school environment.
You may be supporting pupils with needs including:

Autism (ASD)

Learning difficulties

Complex needs

Social, emotional and mental health needs

Communication and interaction difficulties

Behavioural needs
Your responsibilities may include providing 1:1 or small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and independence.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds. Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, particularly within SEN, education, care, youth work or support settings, but it is not essential for every opportunity.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
