About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Classroom Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in South Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and committed to helping children reach their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will work with pupils individually, in small groups, and across the classroom to encourage progress and help maintain a positive atmosphere for learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
• Work with pupils to reinforce learning, build confidence, and encourage independence.
• Provide additional support to children with special educational needs, where required.
• Help manage behaviour positively and contribute to a safe and welcoming classroom.
• Assist with preparing and tidying up resources, displays, and materials.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, or school trips as needed.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Patient, adaptable, and able to work well in a busy school environment.
• Enthusiastic about supporting learning and development.
• A good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Ideally, experienced in working with children (although training will be provided for the right candidate).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
