Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a full-time role with an immediate start, based at the Summerwood Campus in Bournemouth.

The role primarily supports learners aged 16 to 18, with opportunities to work across primary and secondary provisions within a well-established SEN setting.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students with SEN and ASD on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Assisting with personalised learning programmes and life skills development

• Encouraging independence, communication and social interaction

• Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing

• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff

• Creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN needs

• A patient, empathetic and proactive attitude

• Confidence supporting learners with additional needs

• Ability to commit to a full-time role
