Role: Teaching Assistant
Start: April 2024
Location: Bognor Regis
Contract: Temporary or Permanent option
Hours: 33.75 per week, 8am – 3:15pm 5 days per week
Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a secondary school located in Bognor Regis, graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted during their most recent visit in March 2023. The school are seeking a teaching assistant to join their SEN department as soon as possible, on a full-time basis, with the option of permanent employment for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an academy with a strong senior leadership team, who are supportive of all staff members. The school has effective behaviour management and robust policies, and opportunity for career progression amongst staff, regardless of their role.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide support to individual students who face various challenges affecting their progress in the classroom, this could include pupils who have special educational needs, and/or learning and behavioural difficulties. The appointed educator should be prepared to work both in the classroom, and a withdrawal situation with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy support if required. The appointed educator will be expected to act as a tutor for a mentor group, or other planned intervention for up to 45 minutes in the mornings, as and when required, as well as break time supervision, offering structured activities to pupils.
Experience of working with young people with special educational needs or experience of social communication difficulties would be beneficial, but not essential. The school are looking for passionate people who have a strong desire to support young people overcome their barriers to learning. Candidates must have a high standard of communication, numeracy and literacy and be able to promote these effectively to ensure we deliver outstanding academic outcomes for our young people. GCSE grade 4 (C and above) in English and Mathematics are essential for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
