KS1 Teaching Assistant

-          GBP10.20 - 11.20 P/H

The Headteacher and SENCO of a reputable Primary School in Blackpool are on the look out for a professional practitioner to join their Key Stage 1 Team to provide general class support in Year 1. Staff have high aspirations for each, and every child and children make excellent progress during their time in school.  This school is over-subscribed and the Headteacher is well respected within the local community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide small group support for pupils, the Y1 Class Teacher, and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils and effectively differentiate for children with SEND and EAL.
  • Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources for Key Stage 1 pupils.
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific learning needs.
  • Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the school’s policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
  • The Headteacher also includes support staff on parents evening and regularly organises community events within the school.

This role is to begin as soon as possible. This role has cropped up due to a staff member taking retirement and the Headteacher is keen to secure a candidate who is interested in a permanent opportunity. Candidates must be available for a trial session to meet with the class teacher and discuss the role in more detail. The working hours are 8:45-15:15 with 30 minutes for lunch.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
