Teaching Assistant for SEND - Severe Learning Difficulties

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEND school in Middlesbrough who are in need of a full time teaching assistant to work within their Key Stage 3 and 4 classroom. The role will consist of working on a small group basis with children with SEND of varying severity's 5 days a week up until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be focusing upon personal development and assisting in classroom activities. You will be working closely with the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants to provide the best care and support for the children in the class, who have a variety of needs including:

• Autism
• Downs syndrome
• Speech and language difficulties

The school has been rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and has brilliant facilities to use with the children, including a sensory garden! You will be comfortable handling a small element of personal care and passionate about caring for children with SEN. The role will commence after the February half term, if the candidate is successful in the role it is likely that the position could go permanent however registration with Teaching Personnel will provide you with further work opportunities across many of our client schools.
