Teaching Assistant for SEN schools - Bideford/Barnstaple

Job description

We are a company dedicated to finding the right individuals to place in schools across Devon. Teaching Personnel are seeking people who want to impact on young children's lives, help them to succeed and inspire them in their future. As a teaching assistant, you will be expected to work 1:1 or in small groups to enable the children with challenging behaviour to engage in their learning.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have an understanding of children with special educational needs (SEN) either professionally or in the home environment.
  • Will be experienced in managing difficult behaviour.
  • May have a background in sports coaching or creative subjects.
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to be 'hands on' in and out of the classroom.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
