Teaching assistant needed for a Cardiff Special Needs School

Position: Long Term/Full time

Pay Rates: £60 - £65 per day dependant on experience

The school have requested the need for a new member of staff to work within their large SEN School in Carmarthen where you will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in implementing an adapted curriculum to ensure all achieve. You will be working with individuals that have a variety of Additional Learning Needs such as Autism, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, EBD & SEMH these needs will all need varying levels of support so the successful candidate needs to be adaptable, show a proactive attitude in varying situations and have the ability of using your own initiative.

Not to worry the school have requested someone with a positive attitude, the ability to use their own initiative and also the successful Teaching Assistant must be able to work with pupils that can find social situations daunting & challenging*

The School and Position

  • Role starting Full time ASAP
  • The possibility of a school contract being offered at the end of the year
  • Special education needs department working with pupils that have various Special Educational Needs such as Autism, Asperger's, ADHD as well as additional Learning Needs
  • School works with children from 3-19 years of age

The successful teaching assistant and the role:

  • Educated to Degree level is preferred but not essential
  • Use of your own Car is desirable/ Confident using public transport
  • Be confident and have the ability to build report with pupils and act as a support function
  • Work closely with Additional needs coordinator and SEN team
  • Show a passion for education and the capabilities to work in challenging situations
