Make a Real Impact in a Specialist Education Setting

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and energetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged male pupil within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Swansea, with additional support in a mainstream school in Landore. This role will run for the full academic year (September 2025 to July 2026) and is ideal for someone with a passion for helping young learners who require extra attention and a nurturing, active approach.


About the Role:

You will work closely with a highly active and busy learner who thrives on structure, physical movement, and consistency. This pupil benefits from an enthusiastic adult who can engage him both onsite in the PRU and offsite in a mainstream school environment. Your day may include travel between sites, movement breaks, and activity-based learning interventions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • Support the pupil both in the PRU and offsite in a mainstream setting (Landore)

  • Assist in managing emotional regulation, promoting positive behaviour, and maintaining engagement

  • Deliver active, movement-based learning support throughout the day

  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure holistic support


Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with ALN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour

  • A full UK driving licence

  • Business car insurance (as travel between settings is required)

  • Energetic, patient, and resilient personality with a proactive mindset

  • Ability to work independently while following school guidance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
