Job description

Our partner school in Derby are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science for an upcoming part time contract after the Easter break. The position is 2 days per week on Tuesday's and Friday's delivering all Sciences to KS3 and KS4 timetable dependant on the successful applicant's preference of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

The school is a traditional mixed comprehensive covering year groups 7-11, with a high proportion of students eligible for free school meals at 39%. The Science department has 7 full time teachers, an experienced head of department and modern teaching aids.

Key features of this Science teaching post:

  • Part time cover from Easter til July 2019
  • Access to our regular CPD including Maths TSST, Autism Awareness and Team Teach
  • Supportive head of department and senior leadership team

Situated near Derby city centre the school can be located just off the A52 or A61. There is a train station that is 3 miles from the school and a direct bus routes from Derby bus station.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status in the UK, and experience teaching in a UK secondary school
  • Eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
  • Available part time after Easter
  • Suitable school based references
