Teacher of Science

Full time, Temporary Position

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher of Science looking for a new opportunity?

Teaching Personnel are looking for a skilled, passionate and engaging individual to work full-time for a Dorset based Secondary School.  

Our partner school are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join a high performing department who educate and support students to achieve and exceed their academic potential. The school itself boast state-of-the-art facilities, with a variety of resources.

The fitting individual will have experience in teaching students of all abilities and will demonstrate a high level of passion within the science sector. The school itself support commitment and dedication and will aid professional development.

The desired candidate will be expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic performance, in addition to demonstrating specialist subject knowledge.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for general Science teaching at KS3 and 4, and work within a supportive department
  • You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to mixed ability Students
  • The successful candidate is able to competently contribute to the departments journey of continually improving results.
  • You should be able to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to KS3, with the ability to teach at least one specialism to KS4.
  • The successful candidate will be an integral part of the future success of the department and the school more widely

About the successful candidate:

  • Be educated to at least Degree level, with Qualified Teacher Status or comparative Overseas Teacher Training
  • Have recent experience of UK curriculum and relevant exam boards
  • Strives for excellence and works admirably as part of a team
  • Be an inspiring educator, enthusiastic about science, in particular Chemistry, Biology & Physics
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proficient with IT systems and confident with technology
  • Motivated, organised and can work collaboratively
  • The ability to demonstrate commitment to the school and department and have the ability to make a considerable contribution
  • Enjoys industry leading CPD and aspires to develop and up skill

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
