Teacher of Mathematics – Farnborough
Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity | KS3 and KS4

Are you a passionate Maths Teacher who can make challenging concepts accessible, build students’ confidence and inspire them to approach problems with curiosity?
Teaching Personnel is working with an ambitious secondary school in Farnborough to recruit a committed Teacher of Mathematics for a full-time, long-term position.
The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, taking responsibility for planning, assessment, marking and student progress. Applications are welcomed from experienced Maths teachers and ECTs.

The Mathematics Curriculum
The five-year Mathematics curriculum builds key concepts, representations and models progressively, helping students make secure connections between different areas of the subject.
Teachers support students in moving from concrete and visual representations towards abstract mathematical thinking. The curriculum encourages fluency, reasoning, curiosity and enjoyment while showing how Mathematics connects to everyday life, financial literacy, Science, Technology and Engineering.
Independent learning is supported through resources such as Sparx Maths, Dr Frost Maths, Corbett Maths and Maths Genie. Additional opportunities are available to challenge highly able students and support GCSE preparation.
The Role
As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach GCSE Mathematics at Foundation and Higher Tier
- Build students’ numerical fluency and conceptual understanding
- Develop mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Use modelling and multiple representations to explain concepts
- Assess progress and address misconceptions
- Adapt teaching for students with different abilities and needs
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Support examination preparation and independent learning
- Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have strong knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum
- Be confident teaching across KS3 and KS4
- Explain challenging concepts clearly and accessibly
- Use assessment effectively to improve progress
- Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom
- Build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Be committed to safeguarding and professional development
