Teacher of Maths (ECTs/Experienced)
Location: Ilford, East London

About the Role
Our client, a successful and inclusive all-through school and sixth form in Ilford, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join their committed team from September 2025. This role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners with a passion for inspiring learners and raising attainment in Maths.

The school offers a strong and supportive maths department with excellent leadership, a culture of collaboration, and high expectations for both staff and students.

Important: All applicants must hold a degree in Mathematics or Engineering and have achieved an A grade in A-level Maths.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5

  • Use assessment and feedback to support student progress and attainment

  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and high-quality teaching resources

  • Promote a love of mathematics and problem-solving in the classroom

  • Support the wider life of the school, including tutoring and extracurricular opportunities

  • Participate in CPD and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high departmental standards

  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff

What They Are Looking For
The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or be on track to achieve it), with a degree in Mathematics or Engineering

  • Have achieved an A grade in A-level Maths (this is essential)

  • Be confident in teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4, and ideally at KS5

  • Have a strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment standards

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Maths education

  • Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be reflective, resilient, and committed to professional development

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents
