Teaching Personnel is working with a highly regarded independent day and boarding school in the Basingstoke area to recruit an experienced and inspirational Teacher of English for an immediate start.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging English lessons, developing students’ confidence across reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will teach within a school that offers personalised learning pathways and encourages intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons
• Teach English Language and Literature
• Develop students’ reading, writing and analytical skills
• Encourage confident speaking and effective communication
• Prepare students for GCSE assessments and examinations
• Mark work and provide meaningful feedback
• Adapt teaching to reflect different abilities and learning needs
• Establish a purposeful and inclusive classroom
• Contribute to curriculum planning and wider school life

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Have strong English subject knowledge
• Be confident teaching secondary-aged students
• Inspire an appreciation of literature, language and communication
• Demonstrate effective classroom management
• Maintain high expectations for progress and achievement
• Be available to begin as soon as possible
